Our review policy…

We have had several people write comments about our reviews, wanting to know if we “had ever met a product we did not like”.

I make no apologies for the fact that all you have read on this blog (and all you will read moving forward) are positive reviews, but let me explain the reasons why.

1. There have been products sent in for review that never made it to the pages of Weekly Photo Tips and it had nothing to do with them being "bad" products, they simply didn't make it because they did not enhance or significantly add to (or streamline) my photography or to my workflow. It doesn’t mean it was a bad product, it only means it was not for me.

And just because it wasn’t for me does not mean it would not be beneficial to you or someone else, so I don’t want to negatively influence others from trying something that in fact may be exactly what they’ve been looking for.

Folks invest heavily of themselves and their money to develop and get products to market, and I have no interest in putting stumbling blocks in their way.

2. The other reason is that there are way too many folks who will eagerly (and with glee) rip something or someone apart (and think they slick and funny in the process).

I am not one who is quick to complain about poor service (because you have no idea what kind of a hard time that person may be going through, the difficulties they are experiencing) but am quick to compliment good service. Sometimes people are having an off day, other times they are hitting a hard stretch of life... I don't care to make life harder for someone in either scenario.

Basically, it all boils down to what our moms told us “if you don’t have something nice to say, I'll slap the snot right out of you”.

Or something like that.

;)

So the bottom line, all you will find gracing the pages of Weekly Photo Tips are kind words and positive reviews.

Well said!
I too am the kind of guy that never sends food back if its not perfect. I figure the chef is allowed to make a minor mistake now and again and it makes my skin crawl to see people complain over the smallest things.

I for one like your positive article.

I agree with your sentiments. I would rather read about a product that is useful to me than waste time reading about one that isn't any good.

Keep up the excellent reviews !

Thanks,
Roger

I fully endorse this train of thought - good vibes - I only want to know about what works -

I've been a reader for over 2 years now (can't believe it's been that long!) and I have to say that it's refreshing to know that I can come here to read excellent reviews. Any time that I have bought something based on these reviews, I have always agreed with them.

For that, we all thank you Scott!
