You know it's cold when...

The first thing my dogs do when they come in is to bed down in front of the pellet stove.

As if being blanketed with over two feet of snow in the last couple weeks wasn't enough, today high is supposed to top out at around 10 - 12 degrees. Oooooh, break out the shorts and sandals.

;)

It gets even better, tonight's low will hit (or sink to) -10! With Tomorrows high in the (low) single digits.

To make myself feel better I am placing my seed order today to start the process in motion for this years garden.

But I have to go, my dogs just signaled me that it's time to drag in a few more bags of pellets.

Nice photo Scott!

I remember the tour guide telling us that when you compare cost of living around the US one has to factor in heating and air-con requirements, and that made Main the most expensive of the contiguous states to live in.

The dogs look very content, are the miniature schnauzers? I was just lamenting over the temperature and should I go outside and photograph. Maybe I should just get out the macro lens and stay put :-)

Yes Woody, they are miniatures... and we have a third one as well that we rescued but she NEVER leaves my wife's side (which is why she is not in the shot).

I vote for breaking out the macro and staying put.

Scott, I'll trade you your temp for mine. But before you do it you might want to put on Long Johns. Our is Minus 16.7 with wind Chill Minus 30. This is the highest of the last 5 mornings.

Bill,

I think we are about to have your weather blow in, but thank goodness it will not be quite as cold.

Keep warm!

Thanks Mark.

If we're really observant we can see that the sub story here is that we have lots of power failures here in Maine thus the UPS for even the stove. LOL
